When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.
Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.
Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.
A secret Kale will kill to protect.
Hey everyone! Today we have Kale from Jus Accardo’s new novel, Touch. He’s been kind enough to stop by and answer a few questions so let’s just jump right into it.
What was the first thought that crossed your mind after you
stumbled down that hill and saw Dez standing over you?
At first I believed she was a Resident. But then she stood there, watching
me. Something in her eyes… Also, she tried to touch me. Even Residents
aren’t that stupid.
When did your feelings towards her start to change?
I don’t know the proper way to answer this. She helped me escape in the
woods. No one other than Sue had ever done anything nice for me before.
And then again, at her house. She could have stepped aside and let Marshal
take me—or try—and she helped. I knew then she was someone I could trust.
This confused me, but deep inside, I knew. She also made the hairs on the
back of my neck and arms tingle and when she smiled or spoke, there was an odd tickle in my belly. She says I was in love with her from the first
time I saw her. I think she’s probably right.
At any point, did you think that you might have been better off if
you never met Dez?
I’m alive because of Dez. Not physically—I could have easily survived on
my own—I mean something deeper. Because of Dez, I know what it feels like
to love—to be loved. To be free. Better off without her? No. Definitely
After everything that’s happened, what would you say to Dez’s
father if you could talk to him for five minutes?
There are only so many words you can fit into a five minute period. It
wouldn’t be enough. Pain however is a different story. Do you have any
idea how many ways there are to inflict excruciating physical pain to the
human body in five short minutes? Find me Marshal and I’ll show you.
What is your greatest hope for the future?
To see Denazen fall.
Wow! Wasn’t he simply amazing guys? I hope my huge crush isn’t showing. Let’s all thank Kale for stopping by today and I hope you guys enjoyed his company as much as I did! If you’re interested in purchasing the book it can be found at Amazon and at Barnes and Noble.
Until next time!
K, the Popinjay.
